Taj Mahal might be everyone’s favorite, but I am in love with Fatehpur Sikri. This cultural heritage place has something very special to offer to everyone. The positive vibes I get here are incomparable to any other place. I will give all the credits to Sheikh Salim Chisti Dargah which that makes me visit this place again and again. It gives me a peace that I can’t find anywhere. I have visited this historical monument earlier, even then I always come here whenever I get a chance.
It was the first time when I and my best were going for a trip together. We wanted it to be a memorable experience. We planned it very nicely by booking a tour at Arush Tours for a comfortable and hassle-free trip. It was our third day of Golden Triangle Tour and definitely the best one for me.
Attractions at Fatehpur Sikri
This highest gateway in the world is about 53 m high and 35 meters wide with 42 approaching steps. This beautiful architecture is made of h red and buff sandstone with thirteen carved smaller domed kiosks on the roof of the structure. Buland Darwaza is decorated with carving and inlaying of white and black marble that makes it more attractive.
“Jama Masjid”- Where belief conquers doubt
Jama Masjid is one of the largest mosques in India. It has an attractive entrance gate made of ebony. Inside the masjid, it has beautiful colored flower murals, one of the finest marble jalis and the sandalwood canopy which is decorated with mother – of- pearl shell. There are graves of Sufi Saint Shaikh Salim Chisti’s family members at the right. This mosque has an admirable architecture with very fine details.
“Sheikh Salimuddin Chisti Dargah”- Have faith in him and he will show you the right path
This is definitely my first reason to visit Fatehpur Sikri again and again. I strongly believe that the Dargah of Sheikh Salimuddin Chisti Dargah has something to offer each of its visitors. This place makes me believe in myself and keep my hopes alive therefore I just love to be here. I and my friend tied threads on this lattice-work, hoping that our wishes come true. I might be superstitious, but it is my faith that makes me want to do it. The local singers of this village made our visit even more beautiful with their heartwarming folk and sufiana kawalis. This place is my escape from the world and gives me the feeling of self-realization.
The other places that we explored are Diwan-i-Am, Diwan-i-Khas, Panch Mahal, Palace of Dreams and many more.
